Poor women who use midwives have healthier babies

National Post published an op-ed co-authored by Daphne McRae, a postdoctoral research fellow at UBC, about the importance of midwifery in low-income families. They found that marginalized women greatly benefit from midwife care and say that they hope their findings will “pave the way for maternal health policy to address ongoing health disparities experienced by mothers and babies living in poverty in Canada.”
