UBC installs ancient sea monster in Earth Sciences Building

Various media outlets reported on a new display at UBC’s Earth Sciences Building.

CBC reported that the cast skeleton is suspended across the atrium of the building. The reptile is 13 meters long, with a neck measuring nine meters. The neck is so long that scientists say it likely wouldn’t have been able to lift its head above water.

Vancouver Sun detailed the origins of the cast and described how the display was created and assembled.

A number of photos can be seen on Daily Hive.
