B.C. exporter struggles to stay out of Canada-U.S. trade crossfire

John Ries, senior associate dean at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, was quoted in an article in Business in Vancouver about escalating trade tensions between Canada and US, and the toll on B.C. businesses.

“If the federal government were to refund the retaliatory tariffs dollar for dollar to the Canadian businesses affected, it would render the tariffs useless because there would not be a financial incentive to choose Canadian suppliers over U.S. producers,” he said.
